Miwa has modified her balloon casting technique, this time bringing attention to the liquid state of the porcelain, drips and deflations are showcased. The lamps are for sale individually or as a group. They are approximately 6" x 6" x 6" and include a 20W halogen bulb. It is recommended to have them installed by an electrician. BDDW is a small American furniture company dedicated to creation of well crafted timeless designs. Each piece of BDDW furniture is built by hand, one at a time, in their Brooklyn studio. The designers at BDDW are the same people who build the pieces. They have sawdust in their hair and paint under the finger-nails. The innovative designs and fresh ideas which arise from the manual labor of producing the pieces distinguish and characterize BDDW's production as a rare gem. On the initiative of Tyler Hays, a painter and sculptor, (who is also the company's founder and head designer), BDDW invites artists to show and sell their work in BDDW's large beautiful showroom in the SOHO 'furniture district' of New York City. This select group of artists have a similar desire to maintain a high level of craftsmanship in their work. The mission behind the BDDW showroom is to promote living with art objects in everyday life and having everyday objects which are as well thought out and carefully hand crafted as art objects.
